These terms apply to work carried out by Epic Floors, 8 May Avenue, Orpington, Greater London, BR5 2ED. Please read them alongside your written quotation.

Quotations

Quotes are given in writing after a free site survey and are valid for 30 days. A quote is based on the floor as inspected. If work uncovers something that could not reasonably be seen at survey — rot, woodworm, failed joists, asbestos-containing floor tiles or adhesive, or a floor already sanded to the tongue — we will stop, tell you, and agree any change in writing before continuing. We do not add costs without your agreement.

Prices and VAT

Guide rates are £25–£32 per m² for standard boards and £32–£42 per m² for parquet, with a minimum project cost of £550. Epic Floors is not VAT registered, so no VAT is added to your quotation.

Payment

Unless agreed otherwise in writing, payment is due on completion. For larger projects we may agree a deposit to cover materials, with the balance on completion. We will confirm any payment schedule in your quotation.

Access and preparation

Please ensure the room is empty of furniture, curtains and floor coverings before we arrive, and that we have access to power and water. If you would like us to clear the room, tell us at survey and we will price it. Delays caused by the room not being ready may affect the schedule and the price.

What we ask you to expect

  • Dust. Our machines run on continuous extraction into sealed units, which removes the great majority of dust. It is not zero — edges and corners are finished by hand.
  • Noise. Sanding is loud during working hours. We work Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6pm.
  • Curing time. Floors are walkable the same day in socks, but finishes continue to harden for several days. Keep furniture and rugs off the floor for the period we specify — most finish problems come from putting the room back too soon.
  • Timber is a natural material. Colour, grain and knots vary between boards, and floors move seasonally with humidity. Some gapping in winter is normal, not a defect.

Workmanship

We guarantee our workmanship. If something is wrong with the work we have carried out, tell us and we will put it right. This does not cover ordinary wear, accidental damage, water damage, pet claw marks, damage from unsuitable cleaning products, or movement caused by heating or humidity in the property.

Cancellation

If you booked away from our premises — at your home, or by phone or email — you have the right to cancel within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. If you asked us to start within that period and then cancel, we may charge for work already done and materials already ordered. To cancel, email info@epic-floors.com.

Complaints

Please contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly. Email info@epic-floors.com or call 07344 467352 and we will respond within five working days.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
